The Ghetto, the goth band founded by David Bowie, recorded for U.S. distribution for almost 10 years.
The band’s first album, which was released in 1981 alongside Bowie’s The Man, has been called “The BFG,” meaning that a band with Ghetto aspirations could make a splash in this country.
The band’s initial songwriting in 2011 began in early 2011 as a way to let people know from Bowie that they liked the mood and wanted to make one.
They were so critical of the band’s sound that Bowie was convinced that the group needed to expand out to a wider audience.
David Bowie became a household name among Hollywood starlets and even Hollywood celebs with his recent publicist at the time, and his family, who were not in favour with continuing the Ghetto trend, invited him to Los Angeles, where he spent the night. Rolled metal products. –
In early August of 2015, Bowie booked an afternoon to hang out to drink with the band at the Hotel Des Moines and then went to visit his children.
“It was pretty great,” he recalls this week. “We had a great time. It was definitely another ’60s rock music thing with us. We’d got quite a few songs from ’80s rock. It was an absolute blast, and everybody was talking all night about what a great album it would be.”
