Grindr Lays Off Entire Editorial Staff at LGBT News Site in ‘Shift to Video’

Grindr laid off its whole editorial and social group for its LGBT news service TOWARDS on Tuesday, explaining in a declaration that the website ended up being seeking to move away from writing and focus more on video clip content.

“As with any business that is growing we need to continually evaluate what’s perfect for Grindr. After a thoughtful and collaborative procedure, Grindr’s leadership made a decision to modify INTO’s content mix to rely more heavily on video,” the company stated in a declaration to TheWrap.

“This decision was driven by the user that is high and development we come across through stations such as Twitter and YouTube. With this particular shift that is strategic focus, several INTO workers will be making the company. It was a difficult choice and one that we don’t just take gently. We should thank these colleagues for all of the efforts to Grindr and our community.”

“Staff remains at INTO as part of the change to video,” a representative added.

It is still unclear what staff Grindr has continued board. A different statement from INTO editors Tuesday night painted an infinitely more dire picture.
